Piezoelectric motor technologies have left an indelible mark on the high precision stage landscape, for a variety of reasons:

• Very tight incremental motion control capabilities
• Operation in vertical applications with minimal counterbalance requirements (very light payloads)
• Usability in high vacuum and ultra-high vacuum applications

Ibex Engineering has a rich history of designing and implementing piezoelectric motor technology into our stages.  Because of the unique mechanical properties of piezoelectric motion systems, bearing choice and stage rigidity are key drivers in our design process.
